wrist fractures and recovery

Distal radius fracture is a common bony injury that can result in significant long-term impairment. This is the most common type of injury that leads to the strange chronic pain condition known as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). Largely in collaboration with our colleague and member of the Royal Society of Canada, Dr. Joy MacDermid, we are researching the phenomenon of CRPS after distal radius fracture, including genetic, sensory, and psychosocial risk variables.
